Cape Medical Supply President and Chief Executive Officer Gary Sheehan and Assistant Business Manager Michael Sheehan travelled to the AAHomecare Legislative Summit March 1-3 to meet with representatives of their Senators and Congressional Offices, to discuss healthcare reform and the current state of affairs in the home medical equipment and home respiratory care industry. The meetings were part of an ongoing effort to educate health policy leaders on the value provided by homecare organizations and the work done to help serve Medicare beneficiaries in the region.
“Cape Medical Supply continues to advocate for our patients and employees to help federal policy makers better understand the work we do and the savings we create for the healthcare system,” commented Cape Medical Supply CEO Gary Sheehan.
“We have yet to see federal policy proposals which truly embrace homecare, however we remain hopeful that our elected officials will recognize the value companies like ours provide,” continued Cape Medical Supply Assistant Business Manager Michael Sheehan.
Cape Medical Supply employs over 45 professionals in three regional locations and is a leading provider of CPAP equipment, home oxygen and durable medical equipment; Medicare is the single largest payer in this environment, which necessitates continuing education and outreach efforts with federal policy makers.
