Plymouth Rock Studios named as Best Buddies' "New Employer of the Year"

Plymouth, Massachusetts- October 2, 2009 – Plymouth Rock Studios was honored as Best Buddies’ New Employer of the Year on October 1 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA. Earl Lestz, CEO of Plymouth Rock Studios, was on hand to receive the award on behalf of the studio.

Best Buddies is a non-profit organization that works to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. Plymouth Rock Studios has partnered with Best Buddies to become a national leader of their Jobs Program. PRS hired their first Best Buddy, Peter Johnson, a young man with Downs Syndrome from Scituate, MA earlier this year and plans are already in place to expand the number of Best Buddy employees once the studio campus is built. The Best Buddies Jobs Program was brought to the studio through its non-profit organization, the Rock Educational Cooperative. The Rock Educational Cooperative is dedicated to expanding the arts in education, creating an inspired workforce and fostering community involvement.
