Advanced Communication Technologies acquires AViX

Rockland, MA, – Advanced Communication Technologies, LLC (ACT), a designer and installer of custom electronic systems, today announced it has signed an agreement to acquire AViX, LLC, the largest electronic systems integrator based on Cape Cod.

Under the terms of the agreement, ACT will take over AViX’s existing customer base, projects, and service work. ACT will absorb AViX’s sales staff. AViX’s former offices/showrooms will close, and ACT will use its current locations in Rockland and Falmouth to service clients.

Advanced Communication Technologies, LLC was founded in 2002 by Keith Bartholomew and Paul Diggin, both natives of the Boston area. They have since built the company into one of New England’s most successful custom electronics integrators. ACT has grown steadily since its inception. AViX was started in 2000 by Matt Frias, and grew to become the leading electronics systems integrator on the Cape and Islands. In 2005, AViX’s President and CEO, James Carroll, was part of a group that founded Savant Systems LLC. Savant offers a suite of integrated solutions for home automation and control, and is the only manufacturer in the industry with an entire platform built on the Mac OS X operating system. AViX operated as the incubator for Savant’s technology. With the exception of the AViX sales staff, the AViX team has become part of Savant Systems.
