Cape Cod Cooperative Bank sponsors Cape-wide food drive

Joel G. Crowell, President of Cape Cod Cooperative Bank, is pleased to announce the launch of a Bank-wide Food Drive to benefit The Family Pantry of Harwich from now through the end of December. “In these challenging economic times, more and more of our neighbors are struggling to make ends meet,” said Mr. Crowell.

“Our employees felt very strongly that we could utilize our Cape-wide locations to collect food from our customers and the community to help out The Family Pantry. We encourage the residents of Cape Cod to drop off non-perishable items to any of our branch locations or to our Operations Center in Hyannis.”

The Family Pantry is a non-profit, non-denominational activity dedicated to serving the needs of the less fortunate of Cape Cod. Its philosophy is helping people in need regardless of race, religion, or residency by providing food and clothing.

The Family Pantry works hard to provide food to needy families throughout Cape Cod and has done so for more than 20 years. Last year, approximately 16,000 bags of food, valued at over $400,000, were distributed during 7,000 visits from Cape Cod families. It is estimated that this food helped over 15,000 people. This year, help is needed more than ever.



Collection bins will be set up in all Cape Cod Cooperative Bank branches in East Harwich, Yarmouth Port, East Dennis, Hyannis, West Barnstable, Sandwich, Kings Way and also in the Operations Center in Independence Park.
