“When we first moved into our Hyannis facility some twenty years ago, it was a dilapidated building slated for demolition. I am proud to say that our vastly-improved headquarters now houses hundreds of Cape Air employees, and it is great to know they will continue to come and work here for at least the next two decades,” says Cape Air founder and President Dan Wolf.
At their August meeting the Barnstable Municipal Airport Commission voted unanimously to approve a 20-year lease with Cape Air for the hangar and associated land. Airport Manager Roland ‘Bud’ Breault said, “The Airport Commission is delighted that Cape Air will continue as a major tenant and that its corporate headquarters will stay on Cape Cod for the foreseeable future along with 300 local jobs. We salute Cape Air for its environmental consciousness, particularly its initiative to generate its own electricity by using solar panels on the roof of the building.”
Working with local, state and federal agencies Cape Air recently completed work on the headquarters building making it one of the largest solar- powered facilities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
