The Cape Cod Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) will organize its monthly meeting on May 11th at the Hyannis Radisson. Networking will start at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and keynote speakers following at 6 p.m. As this is expected to be a full-house, please register early at reserve@abwacapecod.org.
Best-selling author, former actress, radio news reporter and op-ed columnist will present an engaging session on "Listening Skills to Improve Your Business and Your Life."
Susan Fernald of Home Instead Senior Care will be the member spotlight for the evening.

Best-selling author Anne D. LeClaire is a former actress, radio news reporter and op-ed columnist whose work has appeared in Redbook, the Boston Sunday Globe, Yankee and the Sunday New York Times among other publications.
She is the author of eight novels, the latest of which is THE LAVENDER HOUR. Three of her novels have been optioned for film and all of them have achieved international sales LeClaire’s work has been included in a number of anthologies including A Sense of Place: An Anthology of Cape Women Writers; I’ve Always Meant To Tell You, Letters to our Mothers: An anthology of Contemporary Women Writers; and From Daughters and Sons to Our Fathers: What I’ve Never Said. Her memoir, LISTENING BELOW THE NOISE: A Meditation on the Practice of Silence, HarperCollins, was named one of the 50 Best Spiritual books of 2009.
She has been a visiting lecturer at Columbia College in Chicago, Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, and The University of Tennessee. She teaches creative writing workshops in Ireland, France, Hawaii, and in Jamaica, West Indies, under the auspices of the Center for Women and Change, as well as at the Maui Writers Conference. She has also taught writing to women prisoners at the Barnstable County House of Corrections.
She is currently at work on her ninth novel, THE PATRON OF SAINTS.A licensed private pilot, she lives on Cape Cod with her husband and is the mother of two adult children.
