About

The Fourth Annual Boatbuilders Show on Cape Cod returns to Hyannis this February 12-14 at the Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis. Over the past three years, more than 7,500 people have visited the show, taking advantage of the opportunity to see a large selection of unique, custom and limited-production boats in both wood and fiberglass. This year, boaters looking for something other than off-the-rack, production boats will find more than 30 exhibitors and a large variety of custom-built sail and powerboats on display in one show.

You will not find boats like this at the shows in Newport and Boston. “Smaller builders of custom and limited production boats are often lost in the maze of mainstream boat shows,” says Scott Dayton of Hyannis Marina, a key organizer of the Boatbuilders' Show. “Buyers looking for the kind of craftsmanship and unique design usually found only on limited-production boats have few opportunities to go on board and compare workmanship and features. Very much like the Maine Boatbuilders' Show when it started years ago, this is an opportunity for smaller builders to show off their craft in a larger venue, some for the first time outside of their own shops.”

The Boatbuilders’ Show affords prospective buyers the chance to discuss all details of a boat order directly with the individual who builds the boat. Says Dayton, “anyone interested in purchasing a boat from any one of the builders represented will discover a buying experience far different from that of a production show or a conventional boat dealer. At this level the buyer and builder typically share the same vision of form and function. The buyer can have a great deal of input relating to the final outcome of the boat. Buyers that are attracted to these boats enjoy the beauty of the designs and realize they are more than just boats.”

The Boatbuilders' Show on Cape Cod promises a unique boating experience with accessories on display and beautifully crafted pleasure boats to whet your appetite for the summer ahead. Admission is $5. Children under 12 are free, and there is plenty of free parking. Show hours are Friday 2/12 from 2pm to 7pm, Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
