Plese join us at the 3rd Annual Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Alzheimer's Services of Cape Cod & the Islands. The plunge started with a local Harwich resident, Belinda Bachand who wanted to honor her father Marvin Nadler who had Alzhiemer's disease. In an effort to maintain Marvin Nadler’s legacy and that of others who have had Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia, Alzheimer’s Services hopes everyone kicks off New Year’s Day 2012 with a plunge into the ocean. While most were home bundled up last year, 250 people attended the plunge along with over 75 brave people joined Belinda to swim for Alzheimer’s with a dash into the frigid waters at Bank Street Beach on a blustery New Year’s Day 2011. The event raised over $3,500 and the funds were used for free support services and respite grants for families living with Alzheimer’s disease in our region. All are invited to come and support to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s disease and the free services of ASCCI. After the Plunge we will gather at the Land Ho Harwich Port to warm up. For those who don’t want to brave the plunge into the water, please come out and cheer on others while honoring those with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. All proceeds from the event will be used for free support services and respite grants for the families served by Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod & the Islands.
